Company Description:

Bandit Films is the development and production vehicle for the films of Johnny
Gogan. Formed in 1989 and incorporated in 1992, the company has produced a range
of creative documentary and drama. Drama productions include Mapmaker (with Grand
Pictures - 2002), The Last Bus Home (1997) and The Bargain Shop (1993).
Recent feature documentary work includes "The Adventures of Flannery" (2007)
which opened the Irish Film Institute's 'Ireland on Sunday" series and the
current TG4/BCI production "Ag Teacht 's Ag Imeacht Uaim".

Experience:

The company has a wide range of experience working with a range of
Irish and European broadcasters. Productions include three commissioned dramas for German/French tv; extensive international sales of its feature films; a strong track record in developing original material and work with a distinctive and critical voice.

In Development:

A Place In The Sun" Feature Drama set in a fictious offshore Irish settlement.
Screenplay is at second draft stage with development backing from The Irish
Film Board. From a story by Johnny Gogan. Screenplay by Joe O'Byrne.

Pre Production:

Currently in early prep Irish Film Board backed Spanish based thriller The Straits,
a co-production with Zanzibar Films (Dublin) Fausto Productions (Barcelona),
Sakai Productions (Seville), Sunday Films (Paris). Screenplay is by Johnny Gogan
and Joe O'Byrne..

Current Production:

Ag Teacht 's Ag Imeacht Uaim - feature doco in production TG4/BCI for completion
in May 2009. The production will film in Ireland, Holland and Germany.
Nicky Gogan is executive producing and David Timmons is DP.

Animation:

The Scaffolder Falls - 8 minute animation backed by the Arts Council.
Based on a song of the same title the film employs some live action but is
extensively 3D animation. Johnny is directing with animation by Brian McGowan
and Patrick O'Rourke. Completion September 2008.
