Company Description:

Bread&Circus, a Dublin based film and television drama company, was founded in 2008 as a result of eight years of low/no-budget collaborations between Gary Bermingham and Andrew Keogh in the artfilm collectives, Dogmedia Productions and Western Plumbers Films.

Bread&Circus places creativity, ingenuity and flair and all its absolutes directly at the forefront of process, form, development, production and distribution. Bread&Circus are developing numerous in-house projects whilst also engaging in co-production with other creatives and companies in Ireland and internationally.

Experience:
Since graduating from The National College of Art & Design in 2001, Andrew Keogh & Gary Bermingham have been working independently as a director/producer duo with Dogmedia Productions (formed 2001).

With a background in Visual Communications, Andrew & Gary have gone on to work in a multitude of artistic styles and formats. While at Dogmedia, they produced a multitude of shows ranging from short drama to documentary to sketch comedy to radio.

They have contributed to numerous articles including Wire magazine and Film Ireland (issue 100#, issue #114). Andrew has given lectures on digital filmmaking at DCU, NCAD, Axis Theatre, Ballymun and various other community groups over the past three years. Gary has conducted many in-house workshops and exhibitions and both he and Andrew have hosted talks at the Butler Gallery MOOT IV exhibition in Kilkenny and at the Darklight Symposium 2007.

Andrew & Gary recently departed Dogmedia to set up Bread&Circus Ltd. They are currently developing Bread&Circus 08/09 slate.
