Company Description:
Cartoon Saloon began as an informal partnership between a group of animators brought together by Paul Young and Tomm Moore in 1999. Cartoon Saloon has since grown into a multi-award winning animation and illustration design studio, currently employing 70 highly talented people at their new studios in central Kilkenny.
Following an overwhelming response at the 2003 Cartoon Forum in Varesse, Italy, Cartoon Saloon attracted a great deal of interest in their 'Skunk Fu!' project, subsequently partnering with Dutch co-producer Hoek Line and Thinker on the production of the major 52 x 13 minute cartoon series, directed by Aidan Harte. 'Skunk Fu!' has been sold to television stations worldwide, including the BBC, TG4, Super RTL Disney in Germany, ABC Australia and many other stations around Europe. The children's series follows the antics and adventures of young Skunk who learns the Art of Kung Fu from a wise old panda in China.
Cartoon Saloon are also in production of their flagship feature film ‘Brendan & The Secret Of Kells’, directed by Tomm Moore. The film is the animated story of the boy behind the famed Book of Kells and is co-produced by Academy Award nominated Les Armateurs, France, and Vivi Film, Belgium. Brendan & the Secret of Kells will be released in Theatres and on DVD in 2008 by Buena Vista (Disney).
