Parallel Film Productions was set up in 1993 by Tim Palmer and Alan Moloney with a view to producing feature films and high quality television drama. In this short time the company has established a wide ranging portfolio of projects.
To date feature film credits include "Into The West" starring Gabriel Byrne and Ellen Barkin; "The Last of the High Kings" with Gabriel Byrne, Stephen Rea, Colm Meaney and Christina Ricci; and "A Love Divided", a feature film written by Stuart Hepburn and co-produced with RTE, BBC Scotland, Irish Film Board and the Arts Council of Northern Ireland.
In 1998 Parallel shot two T.V. mini-series, "Amongst Women" and "Falling for a Dancer". Both are co-productions with the BBC, RTE and the Irish Film Board. In 1998/99 Parallel shot a four part TV detective drama series entitled DDU, a co-production with RTE.
Recently completed is "Beckett on Film", film versions of the 19 dramatic works from the canon of Samuel Beckett produced by Alan Moloney. "Beckett on Film" is a co-production with RTE, Channel 4, and the Irish Film Board. The project involves a number of high calibre international directors including Anthony Minghella, David Mamet, Neil Jordan, Atom Egoyan, Conor McPherson etc, and international cast names such as Julianne Moore, Kristen Scott Thomas, Jeremy Irons, and John Hurt among others.
Parallel are currently in production on "Candlelight" directed by Aisling Walsh.
