Membership

The membership base of Screen Producers Ireland is comprised of Irish independent production companies of various sizes, some specialising in producing feature films and others whose primary area of production is for television, including animation. It numbers 160 at present and is steadily growing.

The annual membership fee is €300 per company (or €150 for the first year for a new member company provided they have not previously been a member of SPI), which entitles all members to the following:

- Representation in the form of lobbying and promotion of the industry;
- Receipt of the SPI monthly newsletter which includes industry news, updates in each sector, commissioning information, festival and market information as well as SPI event information (last newsletter enclosed);
- Free attendance to all SPI events and receptions. A lot of the events we run for members consist of bringing Commissioning Editors from the various Irish and European channels to Dublin to meet with and introduce their channel to members;
- Members are also entitled to advertise their company at no extra cost on the Production Company Directory section of our website www.screenproducersireland.com with a link to their own site. Our site is used as a reference by broadcasters and production companies abroad. Profiles can be updated by members as often as is required;
- Access to the “members only” section of the website which contains news items, sample contracts, guidelines on a variety of areas, commissioning information and SPI event notes. The information in this section is growing every day and traffic to it is increasing steadily. Members are given a password and username for this section of the website when they join;
- Members’ contact details are submitted to all industry publications each year and members receive a free copy of these publications;
- Members are entitled to receive the AC Nielsen ratings service at a reduced cost on a yearly basis;
- General support and information from the SPI Office Team.

The membership is encouraged to keep in touch with SPI and contribute to forming the agenda which we work from.

To continue to monitor the industry and have an accurate listing of Irish productions, SPI would appreciate if members could keep SPI updated on each production as they take place. Members can email brief details including the name of the production, its genre and budget to info@screenproducersireland.com. The information will be kept on file in the SPI office and will be treated in a confidential manner.
