HAL Pictures is an independent film production company founded by Husni Hafid & Alan Hopkins and is a member of the SPI (Screen Producers Ireland).
We established HAL Pictures in 2020 to develop and produce distinctive Irish film and television. We are drawn to character-driven stories that explore contemporary life, often focusing on people on the margins of society and the choices that shape their lives. Alongside English-language work, we have a strong interest in stories told through Irish.
Our films have been supported by Screen Ireland and premiered at the Galway Film Fleadh, where our latest short, A Knock At Your Door, won the award for Best Cinematography. We are currently developing our debut feature, Sp(k)ink, with Screen Ireland support.
