RTÉ Junioris looking for ideas for programmes under a broad range of genres.

The programmes are listed below:

ENTERTAINMENT SERIES for RTÉjr – young children and family audience

No. and Duration:20 x half hours

Budget:To a maximum of €500,000

Transmission:Weekdays, Spring '18

RTE Junior isseeking proposals for a family entertainment series which will appeal to young children but with broader appeal for older siblings and families for transmission in the early evening co-viewing slot. Ideas canhavechildren in charge but may feature participants of all ages. Producers can consider the possibility of stand-alone episodes or a series which builds to weekly or end of run 'final'.Proposals may feature a number of strands within a half hour episode (variety style entertainment shows which can combine challenge, performance, setting up adults, features)

RTÉjr LIVE EVENT  -  For under 7s and their families      

Budget:To a maximum of €150,000

Duration:40 to 52 minutes

TX:Autumn 2018

RTE Junior is looking for ideas for a highlight event which would offer a live (or as-live) event-based show; an event around which buzz and profile can be created, an event which would offer an appointment to view for families with young children and an event which would create news and media interest on the day. Children will be at the centre of this event. A successful proposal will capture the excitement of live event, will have elements to draw press interest, will put children on a pedestal for the day, will bring a sense of pride in their achievement to all watching – young and old.

RTÉjr LINKS

RTE Junior wishes to commission a new set of links and isseeking a proposal which can deliver interesting, engaging pieces that will withstand multiple broadcasts. These should feature a range of talent, both existing and new - of potentially all ages – and will probably comprise a mix of studio- and location-based content. Theyare looking for a wide variety of content, approaches and tones.The links may play with a number of television forms and genres, but they must be age-appropriate for the core audience of children aged 7 and under.

CROSS-PLATFORM, PRO-SOCIAL CAMPAIGN FOR RTÉjr

No. of Episodes/Duration:A number of segments for TV, exact configuration yet-to-be-agreed: 1 x 24’00”, 7 x 4’00”, 14 x 2’00” or as proposed

Budget:Up to a maximum of €75,000

Closing Date:Friday 14th July 2017 at 12 Noon (Strict Deadline)

RTE Junior is looking now to increase awareness of RTÉjr and of issues that remain close to its heart. To this end, they wish to commission a standalone, cross-platform campaign for Spring 2018 to comprise a segment or number of segments for RTÉjr television, all built around a unifying theme that should deal withpro-social issues of interest and value for those aged 7 and under. The configuration/duration of the pieces is flexible, however. These TV pieces should be suitable for use also on RTÉjr Radio and/or RTÉjr Online, which may feature in a callout or other public information about the campaign. Asuccessful campaign would have potential to run across RTÉjr TV, Radio and Online (RTÉjr app, RTÉ Player and social media) over a single day/series of days, weekend, week or fortnight.
