Oireachtas TV is now an eligible broadcaster for the BAI Sound and Vision Scheme and is looking for innovative and compelling ideas for the next round in April.
We are looking for submissions dealing with the following themes;
- Irish Culture, Heritage and Experience – with emphasis on
- History
- Historical buildings
- The Irish experience in European and international contexts
- Global issues
Any of the above through the Irish language
All of the themes above would have to be filtered through the prism of Irish and/or international parliamentary systems with Irish connections. There are obviously a wealth of historical characters, stories and locations to explore.
In terms of contemporary themes, the link between the Irish and European parliaments, and the diaspora who work there, would be interesting to develop.
Global issues could be defined as the Irish relationship and contribution to international bodies (including the UN).
With regard to genre we are interested both in historical and observational documentaries. We would welcome ideas for studio based discussion shows. We are prepared to support both one off projects and recurring series.
