RTÉ | Call for Ideas | Entertainment / Factual Entertainment

Tue 23rd February 2016

RTÉ One is seeking ideas in Entertainment / Factual Entertainment for Sundays at 9.30 pm.

Sunday nights on One have traditionally garnered mass audiences with series that have human drama or endeavour at their centre – like Room to Improve, Rebellion, Dragons’ Den – all of which offer strong shared viewing experiences.

We are seeking high-quality Entertainment & Factual Entertainment series that will appeal to a broad audience on a Sunday night and offer them a compelling programme they will be engaged by before the working week begins again.

We are looking for a mainstream series which is returnable and therefore the range of what can work in the slot is quite broad. We could have a strong studio-based entertainment format show or a personality-based programme (like the recent Christmas specials with Daniel O’Donnell and Nathan Carter).

Or we could engage our audience with an original Factual Entertainment format that will shape the conversation of the week ahead. Whatever the format all proposals should have characters we care about, warmth and a sense of fun at their heart.

Budget: €100K-€110k per hour

Duration: 4-6 hours

Deadline:12 noon, Friday March 25th

We ask, in the first instance, that producers submit ideas into the eCommissioning system:https://e-commissioning.rte.ie/SWIFT.Web/skins/rte/login.aspx under the programme category "Entertainment Sunday Night 2016"

The deadline for receipt of submissions is 12 noon on Friday March 25th – Strict Deadline

Please note that Factual have updated their commissioning briefs.
