The Celtic nations have long understood something the wider industry is only beginning to fully appreciate: that regional, indigenous-language production isn't a niche concern, it's a model for a more resilient, creative, and culturally rich screen industry. But sustaining that model requires genuine equity of opportunity, cothromaíocht, for the independent companies at its heart.
This panel brings together voices from across the Celtic screen ecosystem to ask the hard questions: Are independent production companies in indigenous-language regions getting a fair share of resources, investment, and creative opportunity? What's needed to build a truly sustainable, regionally balanced industry? And what role do minority languages play, not just as cultural assets, but as economic engines for their communities?
