Irish AV sector appeal to support to Ukraine

Mon 16th May 2022

Screen Producers Ireland (SPI) and Animation Ireland launch an appeal to support the work of the Irish Red Cross and Unicef in Ukraine and neighbouring countries.

SPI and Animation Ireland are currently working alongside stakeholders, members and government agencies to put short-term, medium-term and long-term support in place for people affected by the war in Ukraine.

One of our short-term actions is to invite our members and followers to contribute much-needed funds to the Irish Red Cross and Unicef.

How will your donations help?

Humanitarian needs across the country are still critical and multiplying.

Hundreds of thousands of people don’t have safe drinking water because of damage to water systems and infrastructure. Many have been cut off from access to other essential services like healthcare.

The country is running low on critical medical supplies and has had to halt urgent efforts to curb a polio outbreak.

Right now, the humanitarian needs are huge and are likely to increase.

UNICEF is on the ground, working to reach vulnerable children and families with essential services, including health, education, protection, water and sanitation.

Red Cross teams will also continue their work to repair vital infrastructure, support health facilities, and help families with life-saving food and hygiene items.

This is a rapidly evolving crisis. Your donation will help those affected get food, medicine, shelter and water. Your support will also help these organisations to assist those displaced by conflict.

We thank you for your support!
