Job-share information session for producers

Thu 19th May 2022

With flexible working and job-sharing featuring highly in the Raising Films Ireland report The Pursuit of Change, Issues Affecting Parents and Carers in Ireland’s Screen Industries the data now exists to support the theory that screen industry staff and crew want more sustainable, balanced and family friendly careers.

On the heels of Screen Ireland's recent job-share workshop and speed-dating event for crew, Screen Ireland and Screen Skillnet are delighted to bring this job-share information session to Irish producers to offer insights into how they can support their staff and crew in working more flexibly.

The two-hour session will feature:

  • Michelle Reynolds, co-director of SHARE MY TELLY JOB, a UK based community organization that supports staff and crew looking for a better work-life balance. Michelle will give an overview of her organisation and the opportunities that job-sharing presents. (12pm-12.45pm)

  • Rachel Jones and Katie O’Brien, job-sharing standby art directors on TV series WATERLOO ROAD, will discuss how they make their job-share work. (12.45pm – 1.15pm)

  • Rhiannon Coyne a HR Specialist from GRAPHITE HRM will round out the session by highlighting the legal obligations producers must consider when hiring job-sharers. (1.15pm-2pm)

Please note the session will be recorded and a password protected link will be available after the session to producers that could not attend.
