RTÉ | Callout for submissions for mental health awareness animated shorts

Thu 31st March 2022

  • Number of episodes: 5

  • Duration: 2 minutes

  • Budget: €20,000 per 2-min animation

  • Closing Date: Friday 6th May 2020 at 12 Noon (Strict Deadline)

Mental health and wellbeing is a topic that is very important to RTÉ Kids, with that in mind RTÉ wants 5 x 2 minute original animations to sit across RTÉjr, RTÉ 2 and the RTÉ Player to be launched on World Mental Health Day on October 10th.

RTÉ would like companies to submit ideas, they will then workshop the ideas that would work best for this age group at a date to be decided in May.

Ideally RTÉ would like animations that work for our younger audience ages 5 to 8 years old and also for our older age group 7 to 10. (They expect your animations will reflect the authentic experiences of these age groups).

RTÉ Kids are now seeking submissions from animation companies who wish to be considered to produce one or more of these animations.

To be considered, interested animation companies should provide the following:

  1. A copy of or link to their company portfolio, and any other information that you wish to offer in support of your application.

  2. Please demonstrate in this application your capacity to deliver one or more animations before September 30th 2022.

  3. Please include a link to a moodboard demonstrating the visual style for your idea.

  4. Please suggest episode themes, however, please note those themes may change following workshops.

Please submit your ideas into the eCommissioning system under the programme category Young Peoples “Mental Health Awareness”.
