YOUNG PEOPLES' PROGRAMMING: TRTÉ

ONE-OFF EVENT or SPECIAL

No. of Episodes: 1

Duration: Half Hour (with cross platform)

Transmission: Christmas Holidays 2014

Target Audience: 11-15 year olds

Budget: To a maximum of €60,000

What are we looking for?

We are seeking ideas for a one-off special event project which will combine elements of online and broadcast television. Successful proposals will have a strong concept, feature strong stories and youngsters from the target audience group.

Recent success in this area saw 'LIFE'S LIKE THIS' - a user generated documentary project which invited youngsters to capture a moment in their day on video and upload to the production website.

The project was broadcast as 12 x 3 minute short films over twelve hours on a special event day in November 2012 and simultaneously broadcast online on the TRTÉ 'LIFE'S LIKE THIS' website.

The content was also repurposed to produce a half hour documentary for the Christmas schedule.

One-off documentary stories find it difficult to find and hold an audience in the busy young people's schedule.

Event or stunt ideas around which a campaign or publicity can be built will be favoured. We are not looking for Christmas themed programme ideas.

While the brief is for a half hour of content, the format need not be a half hour block.
