Virgin Media Television seeks applications for the BAI Sound & Vision Fund

Wed 13th February 2019

Virgin Media Television islooking for newFactual Documentary Series and Factual Entertainment Formatsfor the 2019/2020 schedules as part of the BAI Sound & Vision Fund.

Virgin Media Television representinformative, entertaining programming with broad appeal, so ideas must reflect aspects of life in contemporary Ireland. We’re not afraid of difficult topics but we look for the light at the end of the tunnel. Our hardest-hitting shows still have room for hope and optimism.

We want to investigate the challenges of modern life, track the majorchanges occurring in our society, and capture the nation as it is now. We want to reflect these challenges and suggest reasons to be cheerful.

Of particular interest are returnable “brand-defining” factual entertainment formatsand series, with noisy and topical ideas in hour-long, post-watershed slots.

We are interested in unique access opportunities which highlight places, people and organisations that are fixtures of Irish life. We are open to talent suggestions, whether they are well known already, or dynamic new faces with something interesting to say. We want broadly appealing series for 9pm and 10pm slots across the week.

Are there areas of society that are in need of immediate attention, are there trends that have yet to be recorded on television? Perhaps there are people or organisations that would provoke important national conversations.

For those submitting ideas, a track record of great casting and confident storytelling is essential. Virgin Media Television submissions must meet the criteria as set out in theVirgin Media Television Commissioning Guidelines.

All applications should be submitted through theCommissioning Portal.

The deadline for submissions regarding Round 33 of the BAI Sound & Vision Fund for Virgin Media Television is Friday, 1stMarch, 2019.
